Problem with a fragrance

Okay guys, here's an odd one for you. I have low T(estosterone). I use a testosterone gel that smells like a cheap Bvgari Pour Homme  . Any suggestions for a cologne I can use to counter it, or at least tone it down a bit?

The real Bvgari Pour Homme perhaps? Not a bad scent!

Something leathery or woody or sandalwoody that would add depth to the scent? What seems cheap about the scent to you? Figure out the problem and they use something that adds the missing element or is a better quality version of the predominant note that you find cheap smelling.

I know there are scents that supposedly counteract other scents. That is why scentless creams and such often have lots of scents in them supposedly. Scentless does not mean hypo allergenic! But scents that counter act other scents is not something that comes up around here very often.

Interesting question, Don. Seems to me like it might take some trial and error to find the right scent to give the right combined result that will satisfy you. It might be more effective if you can put something on top of the gel, rather than leave it uncovered. Layering things might help, like some combination of AS spashes, AS balms, moisturizers, and EdT's.

It does seem like something that will complement, rather than just being powerful enough to mask, might be the best solution if you can find it. But you may have to go with a scent that is more powerful as opposed to one that is more subtle. Good luck!

Boy this is an tricky one. Sorry to hear about your condition man, hormones are no joke.

The idea of "covering up" a smell always worries me a bit, cuz sometimes you end up with too much odor going on. So, in general i'd say steer clear from frags that might contain synthetics to avoid being overpowering and chemically.

If you're ever up in West Hollywood/Bev Hills area, check out the Scent Bar on Beverly (good people), or Neiman Marcus. They're sales people are surprisingly helpful and not snobby (as i had presumed they would be).

Are you putting the gel on properly? You're supposed to rub it into your skin until it is completely dry. You shouldn't get any smell since anything other than the medicine would have evaporated.

Yes. That's what I and a similarly challenged coworker thought. But it doesn't seem to be the case for this particular gel. The other popular gel does not smell after rubbing it in, but it's also not as effective.

My experience has only been with Testim. I've not heard about how Androgel might be.
