What's new

Post your local/flea market stone scores. (There's none left. Tim found them all.)

Next one :)
15x3x1.8cm with yellowish slurry.
I think it's Thuringian.

No, that was Rich Corinthian he was talking about...Rick was his brother.

🤣

Hat tip for the vintage TV commercial reference!

I was bit by autocorrect. Did not notice until after the timeout. But yes, I made up for it and get extra credit by using Corinthian in a sentence inside this tread

15cm, three layers.
Nice score. One of the very first stones I scored years ago was a 6” with German label

Unpacking day for wild finds of the month. Been stockpiling till I had some spare time. Now I have a busy weekend ahead. A mix of Washitas, Hard Arks, mystery stones, Barber Hones, and 8 Coticules waiting for a bath. The cherry on top is a Butterscotch Bakelite shaving brush

Incredible! Nice brushes, especially the vintage Simpsons.

@timwcic, I rarely see vintage Simpson brushes on eBay. Any idea why this is so? Does eBay not allow the selling of used brushes? Are people scared of these things?

I don't think there are any rules to that effect. When I was all into restoring vintage brushes I bought and sold a number on ebay.

I see the same thing at antique malls and shows. Things of high quality I’ve seen years ago are nowhere to be seen today. Highly desirable items are locked up in collections. I am seeking it today in high end costume jewelry. Much of it is being purchased and going to the Asian Rim as investment. In ten years their will be no more costume left in this country
