Polsilver Iridium Supers

I got a couple of these free from Emilio along with a couple hundred SI's a few weeks ago and decided to test them to see how they stack up against the SI's. I normally use a blade for 3 shaves and toss it, and only go past that with a couple of blades, Med Prep's, 7 o'clock blacks, and SI's, so when I tell you that I got 6 BBS shaves with this blade, its a statement on the way this blade stood up compared to all my favorite blades. I actually got a 7th shave from it that was indistinguishable from the others, except that the next morning I could feel a couple spots where there was a little stubble, so I assumed the blade was losing some sharpness and tossed it.
I just bought 200 more and I'm surprised there isn't more being said on the forum about this blade. Oscroft says he's interested in doing a comparison of this blade against the original SI but, until then, I was wondering if some of you have checked the Polsilver Iridium Super out, and what you're finding?

I followed that thread, but it's comparing the Original Super Iridiums. I'm referring to the Polsilver Iridium Supers. There has been a lot of discussion about whether they are, or are not, the same blade back in production again. Prevailing opinion, as closely as I can tell, is that they are not the same blade, but hard to tell apart.
My experience has been the same. I love them both, but I don't think they are the same blade.
So, what I'm asking is if many have tried the Polsilver Iridium Supers. Not the original Wizamet Super Iridiums, and not the Polsilver stainless. The Polsilver Super Iridium.
Thanks

Just had a shave with my Weber razor and PSI, another great shave! smooth & sharp. I'm on my 5th shave with the same blade & it's still as sharp now as it was with my first shave.

To me the original SI and the PSI are the same blade in different packaging. But as always with blades YMMV.

I did a PIF a while back where I gave a few of each blade to the winners for comparison.

thanks for the links. It never ceases to amaze me how differently any two given shavers can feel about the same blade.

I got both from Emilio as well, and my experience with both has been great. I've never gotten anywhere near the longevity out of a blade as I've gotten from the SI's and Polsilver SI's. My normal favorites are NOS Gilette Bleue Extra and 7 O'clock yellows. The Polsilver SI lasted me right at 3 weeks. Great blades.

I'm not sure what they're supposed to be called, but I've been shaving with the brown-box Polsilvers (with the Wizamet logo) for the past week, and I think they're marvelous. Next week will be a return to the original Iridium Supers for comparison. Looking forward to it.

The brown box Polsilver are different blades, but they are nice. To my face the brown box felt and shaved different when compared to Polsilve Super Iridium.

The Polsilver Super Iridium look like this. Original SI on the left, PSI on the right.

Also, the post below has some great info on the different Polsilver blades.

I have the original Super Iridiums and the new Polsilver Iridium Supers, and I was surprised that the Polsilvers are as impressive as the originals for me. I got 6 shaves from the Polsilvers that were identical in quality. The seventh was just as comfortable, but a few hours later I could feel a little stubble in a couple places that told me it was finally losing sharpness. Outstanding blade.
I also have a pack of the Polsilver brown-pack stainless which I'm trying next. I've heard they're excellent, maybe not as sharp as the Iridiums.

I really believe there is a slight difference between the two SI blades. Only a microscopic edge examination can tell and I don't have a microscope.

I've read post's to that effect, and I think the same thing, but if I didn't know which I was using in a comparison, I don't think I could pick one from the other. Both last for 6 shaves for me, very durable and the loss in sharpness is the only way you know the blade is falling off. They stay comfortable through the last shave.
