PM sent?

When people are selling thing I keep seeing PM sent? What does PM stand for and how do I do it, so I could buy things too?:w00t:

For location, if you click on someone's name, a dropdown will appear, and 2nd option on the left hand side is called "Private Message." That's where you can send it.

Its just a nice way to be able to communicate with the sender directly, without having to go through the regular posting. Just replying by a regular post leaves a chance of the message being overlooked.

also: writing "PM sent", is not a requirement in the actual sale thread. I thought it was standard protocol at first, but it is not at all. I still write it, if only to keep the sales thread hoppin' & why not.

Some of the funnier things I've read on B & B have been riffs on "PM sent".

Thus ends "PM sent".

For me anyways. Seems like a pesky little thing to get rid of though (it's in sales threads up to many years ago).

We would prefer that members not post that- it serves no purpose.
A "PM sent" in a sales post not only serves no purpose, it tends to kill interest in the sale item. It makes one think that item is sold when only the seller determines that.
