I left my Merkur in a north Florida motel who then claims they never saw it. Can anybody suggest a store near Tampa where I can get another double-edge? Doesn't have to be a Merkur - I'm desperate so anything which will hold a Feather will get me through.

I'm further south, so hopefully some of the Bay area guys can chime in. As a last resort, call the Tampa Neiman Marcus and see if they carry Merkur DEs. http://www.neimanmarcus.com/stores/store.jsp?storeId=35/TB -- The Orlando store carried them next to their AoS/Jack Black display in the fragrances/grooming area. TSS has most any razor made by Muhle, Merkur. Dovo,Boker, and no doubt a few more, order tomorrow. You will have it Saturday

The Art Of Shaving mall store in NJ had a Merkur HD on sale a couple weeks ago. There is one at the International Plaza in Tampa. I remember they were a little pricey but they were in stock. Good luck!

And I can give you the same advice I gave another fellow in Orlando looking for blades. Google local barbershops that give shaves. Some of them might sell supplies. The shop I go to in Jacksonville sells Parker razors.
If you were closer, I'd loan you one.
There is a Carr Barber supply store in Tampa that has Merkur DE razors as well as a TTO DE razor (not sure of the brand of the TTO razor). Carr's is on Waters Ave in a Tampa.
You might also want to look for cutlery/knife shops in the area. Also, check tobacconists. I know the Tinder Box down the street from me carries a few DEs and Conk soaps.

Just go by my house, Im not in but the key is under the flower pot next to the door.
The razors are in the cubbord along with the soaps in the first bathroom on the right. the only razors there are the a ss 40, and a fat boy.

See if AOS will price match for you. I don't think that it's a common thing but I think I remember hearing they did it for someone else. Maybe a Manager level judgement thing. I'd call the local store first before driving there.

I'm sure you could get one at the art of shaving store in international mall (nearish to the airport). I've heard that some Sally beauty supply stores have them but I haven't actually looked as I use straights.
I wonder if he ever found one?

Nope. Sally's had blades but no actual razors and that's as far as I got. I did shave with an agreeable young lady's pink razor but it was not as happy an experience for me as it was for her.

Somehow I'm thinking the quality of the shave is the least important thing in this post.
Did you happened to check out Carr's Barber Supply? I KNOW they have DE razors there if you are still looking for one in Tampa. Hope this helps. 
I hope she had a pocket full of horses too.....for safety sake.
