Husband just started with a DE. His forst couple of shaves were with my Lord 6 and then last couple were with a Gillette Flare Tip (is it still considered a Super Speed or is that a diff model altogether?). He says he may like the longer handle of the Lord better. So....is there a TTO model with a long(ish) handle that I might look into for the next one for him to try?

He's not the kind of guy to get infected with the "disorder". He'll find one he likes and then stick with it, but I want to do what I can to find him just the right one so that he sticks with the DE and doesn't go back to cartridges for some evil reason.

There is the long handled super-adjustable. He should be able to find a setting he likes with that, and you should be able to find one for about 25 if you're patient, 35 if you're not.

The Flare Tip is one of many variations of the SuperSpeed. So it is still a SuperSpeed.

A Lady Gillette has a good long handle. The Super Adjustable comes in standard or long handle models. The Lady is fairly mild and he might prefer a more aggressive shaver, but the Super Adjustable can be set anywhere from mild to wild. If you can find a Super Adjustable with a long handle at a good price, that would probably be your best bet. Oh yeah, and it is TTO.

Don't worry. You will soon have him completely assimilated. Resistance is futile.

Like the previous posts, the Super Adjustable would seem like the perfect fit for him. Good luck.

I vote for a Schick Krona. Long handle, TTO, reasonable price and pretty mild.

Yes. Some of the Gillettes from the 1930's - 40's are TTO with and Open Comb design. However a noted above a Super Adjustable is a very nice shaving tool.

What about a Gillette Knack? Not quite as sexy as the Super, but it has a pretty long handle and is a TTO.

The Knack has to be the least talked about razor ever made by Gillette. It was my first razor when I was a lad just after the last ice age. It's got a superspeed head and a long handle. I still have mine, the rubber/plastic stuff they used to coat the handle seems to be as good today as it was when I first bought it.

Absolutely nothing sexy about that razor. It just seems go on forever.

For a long handled beautiful razor, get a Tradere. It's not a TTO, but the head design does completely enclose the blade.
