Could any of my fine Iowan friends tell me if there's a place that stocks wet shaving gear in Des Moines? I'm here for a few days and am looking to flex my AD. A couple google searches have left me with the standard Sally suggestion, which is good. But if there's other places, please pass those along as well.

i'd say ebay is your best bet if your looking for blades anyway
The best that I have found in Iowa is The Groom Room. It's in Ames, about 30 miles north of Des Moines. The B&M location has a lot more variety than the online shop. Troy has a few shelves of hardware and software including various blades, razors and his own line of soaps. Troy and Karen also do straight razor shaves with a shavette, as required by state law.
I've been into the Groom Room a few times, but have no connection to the shop other than being a really loyal customer.
AOS can be had from the Von Maur menswear department. They also have Jack Black over in cosmetics.
Lab series shaving supplies can be found at Younkers stores or Dillards. I forget which of these also carries Jack Black, but I think it's Younkers.
