Pinaud Eau De Quinine hair tonic

Just got some EDQ in the mail recently and have been applying it after every shower. It does have a cherry coke kinda smell to it when sniffing an open bottle but once applied to my hair it's a somewhat understated medicinal/barber shop type smell. Not the powdery type barbershop smell, but the type that has a clean adn kind of sterile smell to it... if that makes any sense. Anyway, I have really short hair (military cut) so I'm not using it for any kind of hold but simply just to see how it feels on my scalp and keep the "hat hair" smell away. It doesn't leave my hair felling oily or greasy at all either. It just feels soft. Overall, I' give EDQ a thumbs up.

I love the smell of this too. I apply it to my damp hair then hit up some Pinuad hair gel. Probably my favourite Clubman products out of everything I have of theirs (and that's almost everything) I think some here use it as an AS too.

Use it as an AS? I might have to give this a try!

Yes, aftershave. It is nearly identical but has some added glycerin in it. The Eau de Portugal is incredible as well. I agree with Chris. Probably my favourite Pinaud products.

Cheers, Todd

The Clubman EdP and Edq hair tonics were for me useless so far as "control" is concerned. And for me, they have little scalp/dandruff control quality either. The EdQ also has a tendency to darken blonde or white hair, a second strike for me, at least.

Some users add a tad of mineral oil or such to improve holding efficacy of these variants; if I have to fiddle with a product to get it to do what it says it does, I move on.
Too many other good products out there from which to choose, e.g., Lucky Tiger 3-Oil hair tonic, plus, I'm sure, dozens of others!

Where these items excel are as pleasant, inexpensive after shave splashes. Not enough glycerin or anything else for any skin care benefits but the EdP particularly is a refreshing
end to a shave, though the scent fades quickly, IMHO.
