PIF: 3 Ever-Ready Handles, the working man's brush!

Everytime I see or use an Ever-Ready brush, I think about the gentleman who used it before. Probably a middle-class guy, with a wife and two kids. Every day he would slick his hair up with a Cary Grant shine, polish his shoes, throw on his suit and tie, give a kiss to the SWMBO and head out on his way to the office/factory. After work, he'd come home, play catch with Junior, help little Susie with her math homework, Have dinner and rest for the next day.

But how did he start that great day? I'd like to hope with a damn fine shave and a solid brush.:biggrin1:

Ever-Ready brushes might be old and antiquated, but some of these things are freakin' workhorses. And with a new knot, I wouldnt be surprised if these things go another 30-40 years without giving up.

So here's the PIF. Three Ever-Ready brushes handles all ready for new knots. They'll be getting a polish right before I send them out. But to anyone who collects them, wants to restore or get into restoring them, or just have them as nice things to look at on your counter, here you are. An Ever Ready 300BN, 300N, and 150B.

Rules to play: Have more than 50 Posts, and tell me what knot (Finest, Best, Boar) you're going to put in them. That's it.

Winner has been chosen! Thanks everyone for playing!!

Count me in! I'm really interested in trying my hand at restoration. I would probably go with a Whipped Dog silver tip, as I have a whipped dog black badger and really like that, but would like to try something a little different.

Great PIF. I'm NOT in (as I can't buy a brush to put in it) but I would go with a Whipped Dog. Love what I have heard about about them.

I have been wanting to get a handle (or more) to restore. I am one of the 2 or three people that doesn't do fleabay so I am limited to the antique markets and the BST's. I would put TGN knots in em. (the range)

Please count me in.
I'd use a whipped dog silvertip, a TGN finest and an Omega banded boar in the handles.

Great PIF! Thanks!

I'm not in, but still wanted to play along. I'll leave these for some other members looking to get bit by the "restore-bug"

I'd use the following:

For the White/Red, I'd probably go with a 24mm TGN Silvertip or Finest (most likely the Finest as it's that good)
For the Black/White, I'd probably go with a 24mm TGN Nylon, just to keep it's original form and I do not own a synthetic yet
For the all White, I may put in a TGN or WD Black badger, just to mix it up and give it some contrast and I have yet to try a Black Badger.

Good luck everyone, this is one awesome PIF by NexlevMM

I'd put a nylon in the dark handle, silver tip in the red and probably a black or two band i n the light one. Really like the red

I'm in! I think one of each would give me my first collection of brushes.

I think red would have to get a boar knot.

Black with silvertip

Fingers crossed, thank you for a sweet PIF

I'm in. I've been looking out for some good Ever-Ready handles. Omega Boar in one, and probably a TGN finest and TGN grade A in the other.

So pretty! I know that red handle would be nice with a two band finest from TGN. I think a bristle boar in the light brown handle. And in the black and white handle I'd have to find a synthetic knot, again probably from TGN. So generous, good luck to everyone!

I'm in

I would use a tgn finest and grade a silver tip and black badger knot in the handles. This would be my first restoration so I would take my time and research before setting the knots.
