Picked up a flare tip Rocket

Was in an antique store today and noticed what I thought was a Gillette Superspeed.
It was a bit dirty with dry soap, but the doors opened good, there was no green mung growing in it and it seemed to be in decent condition.
So for $5 I didnt look too close I just decided to buy it since I dont have a Superspeed.
When I got home I cleaned it and discovered it was made in England. Looking on the forum here, I discovered it was actually a flair tip Rocket

Its actually in pretty nice shape, I had a bit of a hard time getting a decent picture indoors

Thanks for looking

What makes it a Rocket compared to a Super Speed. I understand the Flair Tip part but just curious as I just purchased a Super Speed last weekend and it looks exactly like this one. Mine has a date code as a 1956 Gillette Super Speed. By the way yours cleaned up very nice it looks like it has just been re - plated.

The OP's razor says MADE IN ENGLAND, has a space above the TTO knob when closed and end caps that are pointed.

Kevin, I have the same razor in my travel kit. I really like it. Just the right amount of aggressiveness without being too mild with any blade I put into it. Like most Superspeeds, they are built to last. Enjoy it!
