I've been working on my brother for years. Three years ago I gave him a shave set from Caswell and Massey for Christmas. Because it had a M3 handle I didn't consider it mission accomplished.
The next year I gave him a Futur and he was hooked buy the cost savings and the close shave. Done right? Nope, I found out that he went back to canned goo because he was frustrated with the lather quality he was getting.
Curses! Thwarted by lousy C&M soap. I didn't know how bad it was at the time.
Fast forward two years, and he tells me that he really likes the menthol goo and doesn't think shave soap could give him the cool feeling (I think he was just trying to get me to stop talking about shaving). Bingo! I gave him my half used tube of Bigalow and told him how to lather it with the bowl in his kit.
I got a call this morning. He gets it now. Says the can is in the trash!
Slow gentle persistence paid off.
