Overkill?

Hello guys, just got a question of wether my post shave routine is overkill and/or even unnecessary. Once I'm done shaving I rinse my face with cold water, pat it dry, apply witch hazel and wait a few minutes, then I apply clubman AS wait a few minutes and finally I apply Nivea post sensitive shave balm... What do you think? Thoughts? Feedback? Thanks ahead of time.

If it works for you, it's fine

Hey HB, What no alum block ?? :biggrin1:

Cross your fingers for my Nats, they've been gettin' spanked by the St L bats - I know, I know we're not the Mets, but at least it's the NL East !

Ok, thanks.

lol @ alum block, I might just try that as well.

I'm rooting hard for the Os and Nats Marty, I just can't believe how lucky those Cards are, they shouldn't even be there in the first place. I'll tell you what though, it sure feels weird seeing the Os and Nats in the postseason.

Any other thoughts on the OP, anyone?

I would ask myself what each of the 4 products you're using does for your face, and whether or not you really need it.
Maybe you do, maybe you don't, only one way to find out!

That seems like it's a fairly common routine around here. Personally, I always do cold water splash and WH, only use alum if I have a weeper or 2, then I choose either an AS splash OR a balm. But as always, if it works for you, do it.

I am similar. Cold water, alum block, AS Splash, then AS Milk.

The alum and splash do similar things but the alum makes my face feel better than just going straight to the AS Splash. I dont wait at all between though. I go straight through...takes about a minute total

As with anything here, it's subjective/YMMV. If it works for you then it isn't overkill. It may be overkill (or even possibly underkill) for the next person but that's really irrelevant. What does or doesn't work for you is all that matters in the end.

I use a warm rinse, cold rinse, and AS. That's it unless I have razor burn or weepers in which case I add alum between the water rinses. That said, my face/skin/beard is mine and may be entirely different from yours. Again, do what works for you. Broad, sweeping generalizations about what's overkill (or any other highly subjective matter) and what's underkill don't really mean much.
