I thought that first TTOs were produced in 50s but then I saw Gillette Aristocrat from 30s and I wonder who came with this idea of butterfly opening. That you simply do not need to disassemble your razor just to change the blade. Somebody had to be first, was it Gillette?

American Safety Razor had the first turn to open safety razor with the Gem Micromatic, which came out around 1929-30.

Thank you! So this was first of this kind of razors, I've seen Gem Micromatic before but didn't think of it as predecessor of TTO.
