Open Comb or Slant?

I'm contemplating my next razor purchase and I apologize if this has been asked a million times already.

I get BBS shaves daily with my HD. My goal is to get down to a two pass shave with touch up instead of a three pass shave with touch up.

Slants are gone when our members "think" to post them on B/S/T these days, so there an obvious success for people with that razor.

But I like options so I wanted to inquire about Open Combs too - if they're the kind of razor that will help me get to two passes instead of three.

It doesn't have to be a Merkur 11c (though I like the weight of my HD) but what do you think?

Iv'e heard of people saying they can barely tell the difference between the HD and a slant. I'd go for the open comb but the ultimate decision is up to you.

I'd have to go with the Merkur 11c if it were me. I am getting one here very soon. I might try a slant eventually though.

I've used both. I prefer the Slant over my New. You should buy both to find your razor. You can always sell/trade the razor that doesn't suit you.

i seem to remember someone having a pic of an open comb with a twisted head like a slant.

I have the Merkur 11c and a 1904 classic (similar head to the HD) and I find the open-comb slightly less aggressive than the 1904. I've heard the same in a few other reviews.
