I just can't stop admiring them! The Pure is €55.00 and the Silvertip is €67.00 I only want one and I don't care if it's Silvertip or not. There is only €12.00 difference between the two.
Limited Edition 2012. Maguires on E-bay have them and the shipping is cheap!

I have been using my 6735 silvertip for about 2 weeks now, so these are my initial impressions.

It's got a big loft. It doesn't appear to be very dense but it must be because it holds tons of water and needs a lot of shaking out. It also eats cream. I bowl lather, but this thing just flips the bird at the bowl and says "I'll keep that cream, ta muchly". There is so much cream in the breach (breech?) it's like I forgot to add product.

It's a floppy style of loft as well. It bends under its own water-laden weight. It's much floppier than my Shavemac 177 for example. (I suspect it could double as a floor mop...)

I've only last 1 or 2 hairs from it, if that, so from that perspective it seems to be very well made.

The badger smell went fairly quickly as well (maybe 3 or 4 uses).

I haven't tried it with a wide range of products yet, but so far it seems to be more suited to creams than soaps, and it does a good job out of difficult products (like Cade cream).

I'm not a face-latherer as such, so I couldn't tell if it would work for the face lathering crowd. I suspect that it would be a challenge because it eats cream, however it does give it up fairly readily when pressing the fingertips into the base of the loft. It's not scritchy or uncomfortable on the face, but its large loft can make accurate/clean lathering slightly difficult.

I'm enjoying using this brush, and have relegated my Shavemac to #2 at the moment (and don't get me wrong, I'm a big fan of my Shavemac).

If you are thinking of getting this brush, and don't already have an Omega like this, then it's a worthy addition to your brush collection.

I got mine from Maguires via that auction facility, and ordering/delivery was painless.
