I had just about forgotten that I had bought this razor some time ago, and I came across it yesterday while digging around in my closet. I decided to give it it's maiden voyage. Holy smokes! That is one fierce whisker whacker! Don't be fooled by the light weight of this beast. I'm used to my 38C, with it's big weight and solid feel, and I expect that one to almost knock the hairs off my face with it's mass alone. I was not prepared for the way the R41, with it's short and light feel(compared to my 38C), cleanly and quietly sliced all the hairs off my mug with no effort at all. I usually take a few shaves to get used to a new razor, and this will be no different as I did suffer a couple of small weepers, but I think it will be a winner. The weepers are just reminders to not use any pressure with this thing. I can easliy see lots of blood loss if one is a bit careless with this razor.
Not only is it a mean shaving machine, but it is a good looking implement as well. The open comb razors have always looked nice to me, and the finish was very clean, and matched perfectly the stand I keep my current razor on. Blade alignment was even and straight without having to fidget with it like my Merkur. This razor may just unseat the 38C as my daily driver.
