Old English Lavender?

Found this in an antique store today
Did some Google'ing but cant find any info on it..
I see Yardley had Old English Lavender products but I dont know if this is Yardley

Theres a partial puck of soap in it...doesnt smell much like lavender though

Next shave I'll take a brush to it and see if it still works :huh:
 
I have not seen that before but it looks like a nice set up. Let us know how it performs and if it still has a scent.

Nice container. Why do you call it a "partial puck"? Looks like a whole puck to me.

Solved part of the mystery...took a few pictures of the puck to show why I called it "partial"

Either someones old whiskers or his brush was shedding...

The bottom has chunks stuck to it....hmmm

Took out my pocket knife and was able to pry enough of those chunks off to reveal the maker of the puck...

I assume its an older puck...compared to a newer one that I have, it does look quite a bit different.

Now to try to solve the mystery of the container.... :biggrin1:

Love the container. I'm no expert, but it doesn't look like it would be a Yardley container though. Every Yardley product I've ever seen is clearly marked Yardley. And the armor/crest insignia seems different than the paintings that I associate with Yardley Englsh Lavender.
