What's new

Oh man, B & B is an influence on my family too

...but in a good way, right?

So I was laughing and showing my family that there are these rather rare "Grim Reaper" straights that go for stupid amounts of money. Not that it sold for this, but here's a recently closed B-I-N ebay entry for a frowny-blade 'Reaper for $675 and you still had to pay shipping.

(It's relisted now for only $650!)

What's this have to do with The Nib, and why didn't I put it in the straights forum? well, I waffled a bit, but the Nib wins by a....nib.

that was yesterday. This morning, one kid draws the 'Reaper bolster from memory (not bad, eh?). Another kid draws the scythe, then decided it was a straight razor. Then drew a few more. Then the first kid decided that her fountain pen (which was the last Pelicano Junior from Goulet at the time) was empty and needed a green ink. Ta Daa! back when I was PIF'ed with my first fountain pen (thanks again, Liberty_2112!)

a little vial of Green Tomato was included. Out it came, I filled the Pelicano, and off she went.

Next thing I knew she had drawn a Baby Reaper right next to the first one. Sigh. She has since added scissors to the baby one because she says he's not ready for a scythe yet.

So here are some recent results of this forum's influence.

That's adorable. :) I'm really hoping my child will enjoy writing with a fountain pen. My wife looks at me like I have two heads when I've brought it up with her... Here's hoping the kid takes after me not her (at least in this :p )! :)

Cheers,

M.
