What's new

Oh look a new AD for me

Evening Gents,

I have been reading over this sub forum ever since I joined B&B and I think I'm almost ready to pull the trigger. I'm going to do a bit more research into beginners pens and inks, going to look into nice paper, and depending on how this goes maybe even wax and a seal for mailing to people. Seeing that I already have AD for razors, pipes, pipe tobacco, cigars, books, comics, films, and culinary tools I can't see this going wrong at all.

Wish me luck!

Welcome to The Nib, Justin! What is one more AD to add to the others, right? Check out the B&B Essential pen that is being sold now.

Dave you just hit 2000 posts yaay you!

Welcome to the nib Justin it's a fun place with a great group of guys

I can see it now, I'm going to finish a shave, pack a bowl then end up smoking my pipe outside while writing a letter on the virtues of good beard and relaxing smoke. Well not until it warms up a bit!

Don't know about pipes, comics, culinary tools, etc., but it's been more expensive than razors so far, even though I have more razors than pens. I've kept spreadsheets on both.

I've surely spent more on books, but then, I've been accumulating books my whole life. They don't really seem to need a special justification.

Well I pulled the trigger not once but twice, I ordered B&B essential but I also ordered a Sheaffer 100 Fountain Pen with ink along with a travel case for my Merkur. I just found my journal that I missplaced two years ago so I'm excited to put pen to paper again... Though I can see myself starting to write letters with wax seals so I can see another AD forming soon!

Well after having my pen for a day I can honestly say I love this, I've been writing in my journal all day working out the more comfortable way to hold my pen while pushing it across the paper. I use my crap Bic for work stuff but I can tell a huge difference between how they work. Honestly they are amazing!

Just so you are prepared, this wont last much longer lol

Nice to hear things are working out well for you,... cant wait to hear how the first wax embrossed letter goes

I keep hearing horror stories about Canada Post cancelling letters with wax seals so I'm going to send nice letters inside of the ugly bigger envelopes that Canada Post has.

Well when I say those horror stories, I should say among all the horror stories I hear of Canada Post those ones are pretty bad...

pet your wax seals on the bottom of the letter itself,. not on the envelope,... ive sent one thru to test, it made it to Ed in Chicago okay but it did take some damage,... after hearing (i forget who posted it) about the couple getting married who mailed out all their invites with wax seals and after looking into why non of them showed up,... finding out at that moment, what a stamp is !, i would think the wax seal was not the issue, but people who dont know how to address or stamp a letter being a bigger problem,.. but it is CanPost so who knows

I was thinking about that when I was walking around Staples looking at the paper they have (not much I like) but I think I'm going to buy some of the blank business cards to put the B&B Brown Leaf and Pipe Magazine in the Pipe Starter Kits I'm getting my buddies. Any particular place on the bottom or right around the signature mark?

I throw caution to the wind and put it where I feel like it at any given time lol but bottom right I believe is proper
