Wow what a wonderful shave
Both razors performance was outstanding.
It was a shame to have to pick one
1st pass was perfect on both sides of my face.
2nd pass was also Great
It was the 3rd and final pass where Eleanor began to shine (1936 crat)
Awesome finisher she is

Tomorrow the flat bottom has a unique design and is a very nice razor but she is going up against the Titanium Timeless .68 one of my ATFs

Those OC 'Crats are one of the best Gillette ever produced (at least in my opinion). Efficient and smooth.

I have tried quite a few different crats over the last few years , British and American and the 1936 for My face is my favorite . You know what they say... Happy face , happy face

Goodwill #160 was the clear winning razor . Smoother, Closer and just overall
Better. Way to much blade feel from 1918 and it bit my neck

I went down the rabbit hole on Goodwill razors after noticing yours differs a bit from the one I have.

Your Goodwill is actually a #162, as I learned (and I have a #164, it turns out).

The special spa treatment was great
The shave was going to be a good one, and it didn't disappoint
The British made FB special was excellent , smooth , efficient and comfortable . I really like the way the FB NEW shaves . IMHO it's one of
"The Best A Man Can Get " Gillettes .
After all that you would think it was victorious and you would be wrong
The Titanium Timeless was just better all around. and I wouldn't be surprised to see her in the finals
Brush was a blank I purchased from Dogwood that I turned and set a 26mm Duro synthetic knot in .

Great looking shave, Steve.
You know, I completely forgot and/or disregarded the Timeless Ti. That is a formidable razor that I'd put up against any 3 pc. razor including any of Gillette's best and it could well take the whole shebang.

Might have to rethink my initial picks on the Gillette RFB's here....

Gillette Raised Flat Bottom (RFB) NEW made in England

Gillette Goodwill LC

If I would have been blindfolded I would not been able to tell them apart, in a good way . I was expecting it to be a run away contest in favor of the RFB. But to my delight it was not that at all. I have had the Goodwill LC for probably 5 years or so and I had it replated in Rhodium shortly after I bought it. In the last 3 years I have probably used it twice , it was just not part of my routine and it got lost in the crowd.
Both razors gave me a wonderful shave smooth efficient and comfortable . I am having a hard time
Deciding who gets the W .
Should I do it again?
Or go with the pretty lady ?
Brush used made of Walnut and Backyard spalted Oak with a 24mm Timberwolf ? She's been around for awhile and I forget what the knot was called

2 of my prettiest Razors
Rosie was going to win this match before it started, I have owned both of them for many years and they have had this head to head match several times and she always gets the W
A little smoother and a more comfortable face feel for me.
Both are efficient and a pleasure to shave with.
26mm silvertip synthetic in a Backyard spalted Maple handle.

17mm vs 15mm
Both razors have more blade feel than most Gillette NEW razors .
Both razors gave me a very close shave (no blood ) with 17mm being a little more comfortable on my face.
So the 17mm will be moving on to the next round. 17mm is on the left

Brush a Red Cedar with a STF synthetic knot

What a pleasure it was, both razors gave me a wonderful shave comfortable smooth efficient
The RFB was slightly more effective on my neck and a little bit quicker to BBS

Brush used 26mm Duro synthetic knot set in a Cocobolo and mahogany handle

So today's Match was supposed to be
The Deluxe Big hole vs The 1914 Gillette Bulldog

The Deluxe skipped town and could not be found. So The NFB NEW LC stepped up and took it's place. You may ask what is a NFB ? In stand's for Naked Flat Bottom because of no finish of any kind is present on this razor just raw naked brass , I did polish it up a few years ago .
But Alas it was no match for the 1914 Gillette bulldog . I have had 3 other Bulldog razors over the past few years but this 1914 is just special for my Face and always gives me a wonderful Shave. So she's moving on to the next round.

Brush used was Hudson river salvaged mahogany handle with a 26mm synthetic knot
