"Macfix Grosvenor"| Merkur HD w/ Red IP | Proraso Crema Pre E Dopo Barba |ARKO| Proraso Crema Liquida Dopobarba
Initially when I tried ARKO the scent was a bit different and didn't like it so I threw it away. But for some reason I thought about it again and ordered new sticks which arrived yesterday and I went ahead to store in a nice metal bowl. I have to say it really grew inside of me thinking why did I throw it away after having an excellent shave this morning. Also the scent is really all not that bad and sort of liking it more. For the price of this stuff I don't ever think it will be out of my rotation!
Well my friends I hope you all have an excellent day and weekend ahead of you!
Prep: Proraso pre-shave cream and Kyle's Prep
Razor: Muhle R89 (only razor I use) Blade: green Gillette 7 O'Clock (Russian) Brush: Van Der Hagen badger brush (a la carte from Target) Shaving soap/cream: Nancy Boy signature scent SC After Shave: Tabac AS splash Cologne: Tabac EdC
Now that I've worked out my prep issues (tried to prep way to fast), I've been revisiting some blades I didn't initially like. I got a fine shave (near BBS) with the green Russian 7 O'Clock. The VDH brush is holding up well. It would make for a very good first brush, and likely to stay in the rotation even after more expensive brushes were acquired (unless one comes to like very densely packed brushes).
The better prep, combined with slower shaving strokes the green Russian and the Nancy Boy SC, resulted in a terrific shave.

Old Spice from the Captain
I nicked myself right by my mouth this morning gauging the angle the the straight wrong. I was pretty pissed about it, so I just switched to my Fatboy and had a great shave. Pouring the Old Spice out of the Captain was the real treat of the morning and the scent of Lily of the Valley reminded me that it's Friday!
Happy Friday everyone!

This blade is going to get a good complete workout before I use another one, first, to be certain it will actually improve with usage (not be quite so harsh, hoping the stropping and use will calm it down a bit), and second, cuz it shaves so darn good
In keeping with this weeks theme, I tried out a new shaving mug. I think it will remain a coffee mug however. Sides are just too steep, but it was at least worth a try.
