What's new

Nooooooo!!!! I broke it!

Last night, I am sad to say, my cherished Goodwill soup mug, turned shaving mug, went on to its eternal reward - the garbage can.

For some stupid reason, that I still cannot fathom, I dropped my VDH bowl inside it, and split the mug into halves.

Oh well. Now I have an excuse to go inside antique/junk stores and Goodwill again. :w00t:

try facelathering.

i always used a bowl, then when i broke mine I started to facelather - i havent looked back

I think you should bury it in the back yard, and put a little grave marker on it with a tiny wrought-iron fence around the area.

Do the same with your soap/cream containers etc.

Avoid mentioning the ritual to SWMBO.

rotflol!!!!!:lol::lol::lol::lol:

:thumbup1: Not a bad idea.....

I dropped my VDH bowl this morning while wiping it off to put away. Bounced off the counter, then the floor...it's unscathed! Not a chip.

I did have to rinse off my soap though.

Man, was I lucky.

I had a similar stroke of luck last night, but with my Rooney brush. I shake it off into the shower which has a resilient plastic floor and am very careful on each shake to be sure of my grip. What I WASN'T careful with was the back swing. It went flying out of my hand high up in the air and came down on the tile floor with a bang! Unbelievably, no visible damage.

Quality shows!

I was saved because I put in vinyl tiles in that bathroom I think.

My downstairs bathroom, I installed slate tiles...would have been a huge mess of sharp fragments!

You threw it away!? Epoxy glue would have fixed that.

The handle on my DB scuttle had a clean break during shipping and I glued it back on with epoxy. You can't even tell it was broken and it's probably stronger than before.

While it split in half, it wasn't clean enough of a break. Little shards and chips...it would have been a nasty job. Besides, I only paid 69 pennies for the mug.

With all of these VDH incidents in the last 24 hours, there must have been a rift in the VDH continuum momentarily, and we all felt the aftershocks!

Thankfully my VDH bowl was not damaged, and I will have to survive without a mug for a few days.

Pictures? Where'd ya get it? I'm on an OS shaving mug kick right now...:tongue_sm

I picked it up from the same antique store I bought my Blue Tip and Slim from last week. He has had the OS mug for over a month, and finally dropped to a price I was willing to pay.

I've been promising pics on the razors anyhow, so I'll combine the two and get them up as soon as I can.

Sorry for your loss. I prefer the O/S ones though.

It was a good mug, and has gone on to its eternal reward. Galius says I should bury it in the yard. Not a bad idea. In a thousand years it will be part of a weird archeological dig.

I shaved late today. Just finished about 30 minutes ago, and I used the OS mug. I am still amazed! I was afraid it would be too small, instead it is perfect!

There's something about an Old Spice mug that just makes any soap seem better to me. It's all in my fevered mind, I know, but it's just an appropriate home for a puck of soap.

I haven't put a puck in it yet, since I melted down my VDH in the bowl last night. (BTW, 82R100, that works great!) But it is great to make your lather in. The day will come, when it, too, shall hold a puck of soap, and I shall rule the bathroom and no one will ever stop me! Muhahahahahahahaha!

oops, he he, got a little carried away there.
