beings how I already had one of Larry's silvertips in a Firehouse handle I thought I should try one of his black pure badger brushes. So today I received a gigantic 30mm brush in a black resin handle. This thing has some serious heft to it. Cant wait to get home and get this thing blooming. I'll post my thoughts on it next week after I've used it a few times.

With a loft that low on a black badger brush that big you may want to check the availability of a skin graft at your local ER first!

Funny, I jusy got a WD 30mm silvertip and it seems a few people have also gotten 30mm bushes and posted recently. The comments of "Crikey! Look at the size of that thing!" abound. And yet this is my small brush. I've got an Omega 10049 and that feels a bit big but the WD just feels, well, normal. I guess it's all relative.

Beautiful brush by the way! I really like the black handle, almost sorry I went for the ivory.

I was just thinking the same thing about the black handle. I like the look of the black badger. I know it will be more scritchy than the silvertip, but might have to order one just for aesthetics. And here I was saying I'm not buying anything for a while.

That thing looks massive. I just ordered a 24mm silvertip from him. First time using a badger brush, hope it works for me; I currently have an Omega 49 which I can't face lather with - it's just too big. When I try to face lather with it, I risk poking my eyes.

washed it up good last night and used it this morning. man this thing is wicked!

It's not really "scritchy" at all, not quite as soft as the silvertip but still much softer than a couple of my other badger brushes.

It doesn’t fit in any of my brush stands so I'll have to figure something out, but so far very happy. It shed one hair while I was washing it up last night, and a couple half pieces of hair during use this morning.
I can't speak for the omega 49, but I can tell you this whipped dog is every bit as big as my 48 just less loft. I'll post some more pictures comparing them in a couple hours when I get home

I got the 24mm ivory pure black badger and it looks just the same (in a smaller size!). So far I just love this brush! All I have for comparison is a FS "chubby" 26mm, but so far so good! Its weird because if you feel it when its dry, its really soft, but when you wet it and face lather, it does very lightly feels like tiny needles touching your face, but I love the feeling. Its a mix of soft/scritch. Don't think I'll be ordering any other brush anytime soon.
