New Simpson 58. Whee!

Got my new Simpson 58 from West Coast Shaving in about 3 days...wow. I love the brush. I face lather nearly exclusively, and this brush is perfect for that. Out of the box I thought it might be scritchy, but no, sir! Lathered up with T&H Grafton, shaved with my Plisson DE. Thanks to all who posted stuff about the 58, it helped me with decision. I don't see why not. Maybe another member has experience with this brush and bowl lathering. I'll give it a try and report back!

I also love my Simpsons 58 in best badger. It is one of the few non-2-band brushes in my rotation. It seems to be equivalent, or roughly equivalent, to the Duke 3, except with a longer handle. Definitely an under-appreciated brush.

I have the 57 and it is great for bowl lathering. As Teddyboy notes the knot is very close to the Duke (maybe a wee bit more loft) but a longer handle. The shape of the handle lets it rest nicely on the edge of the bowl without it sliding back into the lather, which pegs my OCD for some reason.

The 58 was on my short list until I got the Polo 8 and Polo 12... After those two my short list got VERY short

That does not cut the mustard. I have the 56 and had the 57. Two of my favorite brushes.

The 58 and 59 are among my favorite brushes. I wish Simpsons would make them in Super.
