New Progress-Which Blades? I know it's a personal choice, but...

Hi,

Expecting in my very first adjustable razor, a Merkur Progress tomorrow.

So what is my best bet for blades. I have read many posts that it is different for everybody but hearing your comments might help before I go out and buy some. Right now I have a couple of Shark blades left.

I like to use Derby and Astra-SP, in that order.

Don't forget to get a custom knob for your Progress ... these add weight and balance, and make all the difference in the world. It turns the Progress from a mediocre razor into a GREAT one.

The knobs are handmade by at least three different artisans/craftsmen here on B&B, and are available from a number of different vendors.

Yes, it is.

Mer is the one who invented the enhanced knob in the first place. Since then, cooncatbob and Pureslab have followed with their own versions of the device.
