What's new

new pots and pans

Don't have any experience with this brand, but I'm not a fan of non-stick. With the amount I cook, non-stick pans usually only last me a few years.... I hate to be a kill joy with the pans you're looking to purchase, but I like long term investments (a.k.a. Stainless and cast iron). Try out a 12" cast iron pan and see if that floats your boat. Great for searing meats and it's about the same price!

I have a vintage Griswold 10" cast and a newer 12" lodge cast so I am pretty well covered there. I also have a enamel 6 qt lodge dutch oven. I was mainly looking for an easy to use egg pan for my girlfriend as she is not comfortable using the cast iron for anything but bacon. (if the coating only last 2 years I am okay with that), a saute pan and a few sauce pans. I would most likely get one coated and one non coated. I was leaning toward the stainless pan I listed.

ah, now I understand. You may want to ask her what she wants before you pick up anything =P Then whatever she suggests, get that one and not whatever we're suggesting. hah!

I'm also not a fan of non-stick after reading an article in national geographic about a guy who tested himself for chemicals and found plenty of the non-stick coating in him. I prefer steel or cast-iron and was just the other day eying the lodge logic cast-iron series which seems pretty inexpensive and nice.

I have a fondness for stainless steel, 18/10 when I can get it. Also great for camping/canoeing/outdoor stuff.
