What's new

New Chatsworth and Muhle

Came home from work to find two boxes on the counter, one contained some new shaving soap and the other had my new Edwin Jagger Chatsworth Classic razor with the faux ivory handle, and a Muhle R106 razor.

A few posts I saw about EJ having Muhle heads on their razors leads me to ask, do they make their own razors entirely?

I loaded the EJ with a new Feather blade, and the Muhle with a Gilette 7 o'clock. Look forward to waking up tomorrow.

Best,

Chris

This is similar to a thread I posted a few days ago.

The EJ razor you refer to and the muhle do look like they have the same heads, one other thing I have noticed and it may be me, but it seems that EJ are supplying razors to t and h, complete with t and h branding on the handles.

One other thing I have noticed is that muhle shaving soaps and ej shaving soaps are the same, only difference is packaging
Do we have a shaving conspiricy on our hands lol

Used the EJ this morning with a Feather blade loaded. After showering, I put on some shave oil, followed by a brush up with EJ buckthorn soap.

I've been shaving with brush and soap for years, but its been a long time since I used a DE razor.

Maybe I'm out of practice, but I really had to take a lot of passes on the heavy areas (chin, under the nose) and ended up pulling my five-blade cartridge razor out of the cabinet to clean up the chin.

Certainly no problems with nicks or cuts, so its not aggressive as they say, but I will have to re-refine my technique, since its been so long since I used a single blade DE razor.
