Got 'em yesterday. Changing the laces to a straight-bar pattern was just the ticket. They're still breaking in, of course, but are already much more comfy after wearing them all day today.
Merlot McAllisters were ordered (none in my size anywhere, apparently) and should be done in about three weeks.
