Is it just me, or does this look like a nickel plated Aristocrat?

It doesn't have date codes or the knurling above the TTO knob.

Is this some rare variant of President?

From THAT seller, yes, it's probably a replate. EDIT: jumped the gun, see below.

But some Presidents apparently did come with that smooth band.

edit: however, most of his listings do state that it's a replate, and this one doesn't. Also, there are signs of age on this one, so perhaps it's real.

I don't know, he does replating on some, but also seems to have sold a lot of rare ones - specifically razors that usually come in gold with rare variants.

I thought the President should have a date code as well. The WIKI dates the president from 51-53 but I have a 1954 President and it's twin the Diplomat made in 1955. My instinct tells me it's a replated Aristocrat.

I believe it gives a 1946 Ranger Tech. I´ve one too and he don´t look replated

Yours may not be. His is. He admits as much in his listing. Between that and his other curious rarities, I find it hard to believe in their authenticity. How could one distinguish between a replated 46 ranger tech, and a replated milord?
