What's new

need a dress shoe recommendation to wear with khakis

I used to think pink dress shirts were a little, erm, too pink for my tastes but i'm finding that they actually work well with the right color combos.

During the spring and summer, if I'm wearing my medium gray suit, I'll wear a light to medium pink dress shirt with my tie, which is stripes of pale blue, purple, dark pink, and light gray. I always get lots of positive feedback with this combo. And it doesn't hurt that pink actually works really well with my complexion.

Oops, sorry for the slight thread derail.

I've always been a fan of Rocksport lace ups, though I have been known to wear the loafers on occasion. I find them to look very nice, are extremely easy to care for, last a long time, and are very comfortable to walk in, especially over long distances or dancing. I generally only wear the loafers in the summer (depending on the crowd, socks may be optional), and I wear the lace ups in the winter, since they are warmer and hold up better to slush and ice (they have a great grip to them).

These (in a lighter shade)

These are similar to the loafers.

And I have a pair of these for more casual events.

nice choices! I actually do like Rockports and Bostonians but i'm leaning heavily towards buying Rockports next. the three you linked to are some fine looking shoes

Dress shoes. Yuck. I don't want to look like some junior executive trying to climb the corporate ladder. Especially with khakis. Cole Haan loafers in tan, like someone else said. They smell like my old Rawlings Heart of the Hide baseball glove. The most comfortable shoes out there that I can actually afford.
