What's new

My upcoming visit to the holy land

Yep...that's right, I'm stoping into Mama Bear's when I'm up near her shop in a couple weeks. I've seen pictures of her gigantic wall of shaving soap...I can't wait to smell all of them!! I'll post my reactions (and my haul) when I get back from the trip.

Wow -- I want to go! Living in Georgia makes a trip to this sacred place fairly unlikely in the near future. Enjoy your pilgrimage!

While you are there, be sure to pick up some Rosemary Mint shaving soap. I used it for the first time tonight and it was INCREDIBLE. It was truly a luxurious experience.

So, I went, and it was amazing! I posted a photo of the shave section below. I think I smelled every scent! Even better was the service. I called the day prior to check the hours and I got their answering machine stating that they were closed the next day. On the chance that someone would be there to just let me in, I emailed the shop and Sue emailed back promptly saying that they forgot to change the message and they would indeed be open. I ended up getting Autumn Afternoon, Dublin Tweed and Lilac Ice. I like the Autumn Afternoon best. It truly smells like the name; sweet, crisp outdoors with a hint of spice.

You know how apocalyptic stories always seem to involve a cross-country trek in order to find more survivors or a rumored safe haven?

I think we have found the Mecca of the Shavepocalypse!

We just need to convince Mama Bear to stock up an underground bunker just like that, along with some supplies of non-perishable food and bottled water, and we'll be all set.
