My scalp took the Fusion ProGlide Challenge

and it ABSOLUTELY LOVED IT!! I had about 4-5 days worth of growth on my melon, which is a significant amount since my hair grows FAST. Anywho, I decided to use the ProGlide and brother, lemme tell you, it reduced that hair in NO TIME. One of the smoothest head shaves ever! I highly recommend the ProGlide for any headshavers who have a fair amount of hair on their heads!

I tried it and had a better result with the Gillette guard ( Italian barber, west coast shaving) which is 1/10 the price

I've also tried it and it clogged like crazy on my head, to the point of having to actually wipe the hairs out with a towel.

hahaha Docta Jones, i have a spare boar brush to unclog my headblade, which I rarely use anymore for that very reason :) I get good shaves with my 3 bladed headblade sport, but the clogging and cost of blade replacement keeps that thing hidden in storage 98% of the time.

I find the Gillette razors terrible for headshaving. Well, all of them after the two blade one. Too rigid, bulky, difficult to manoeuvre. Not good IMO.

Great! Happy shaves feel so good.

+1 on avoiding the Fusion cost. I use--after using a brush to apply shaving soap (my cheapest, Williams and VDH Deluxe) into my scalp--a Headblade with CVS Atra-style (that is, 2-blade) cartridges, which I purchased online on sale for 25 cents per cartridge. They work great. Since I just do one pass + touch-ups, I get 15 or shaves per cartridge--less than 2 cents per shave. If I'm not mistaken, Headblade's CEO said (on another forum) that the HB cartridges are re-branded Dorco's and that the CVS cartridges are the same.

I used a Fusion for my first few head shaves and it did a great job, but when I saw the price of blades I decided to try my DE razor. Took some practice, but I am getting really good results.

I shave every 4 days...the longer you wait...the more "natural" oils aid in lubrication a little..in addition to either pre shave or cream/soap n a brush

Your hair must not grow very fast or you don't care about keeping it bald if you only shave every four days. The Fusion works well for head shaving but is too pricey. I find the headblade to be a silly novelty. The best results for the money (IMHO after 12 years of shaving my head every other day) is either the Hydro 3 or Mach 3. I usually go with the Hydro 3 because of price. I have never used a DE on my head and I have not attempted to use my straight on my head.
