Here are some pics of my little collection of razors. The Slim and Merkur have been re-plated by Onotoman (more about the Merkur later). The Aristocrat and the flaretip SS I bought from hypo_style, and the EJ is the only modern DE razor I own. The German Tech I got from mr-razor. The Good Will I got from a local web auction, I am still thinking what to do with it.
Haven't tried out these beauties yet.
The EJ is very heavy compared with the other razors, and rather aggressive too. Whereas the Tech is extremely light (aluminum handle) and a very mild shave. Extremely easy and pleasant to use for the beginner. I don't seem to have pics of the Slim, but it seemed surprisingly aggressive (or I got the angle wrong) on setting 3. I tried it on setting 2, and that went much better.
About the Merkur: Onotoman was able to replate it real nicely, except for the zinc head which was impossible to fix. So now I am on the lookout for suitable piece to complete it. I don't suppose anyone has an extra head like that knocking around?
