Today's shave with the straight was the best yet. This was shave #6 or it could be #7 what with a couple of false starts and other problems, but it doesn't matter.
Today I found no hesitation at all. Man I was moving that blade around as if it were my DE. I didn't go crazy mind you, but I just felt so sure of using the straight that I did about 90% of the shave with it. I did some of my tough spots with my 1904 DE, but talk about a confidence builder, this was great.
After I was done with the shave I felt for any rough spots, found a few, and was able to take care of them using the straight and some water clean-up.
I finished up with 2 very small nicks, yeah I've still got some work to do, and just a bit of redness. All and all I'd say things are going along great. I really can't believe how the straight gives such a smooth close shave, and all with using absolutely no pressure at all. Man I'm ready for the next shave in 2 days. I'm very pleased that the skill needed to straight shave has come together so quickly. I really thought the basics would take much longer.
Regards,
Paul
