I got a PJ2 this past week, a two band beauty, but I find it to have a very stiff backbone. Will it get a little softer after it is broken in?
My PJ2, will it get loose some of its backbone?

I find mine to be stiff enough to use with milled soaps, but still soft at the tips -- just exactly perfect! I've only had it about 3 weeks, and I don't think it has changed much in that time.

So when you move to apply the lather to your face, do you mash the brush or do you just lather with the tips?
The tips will definitely feel softer and once the brush opens up a little after 10 - 15 shaves it will definitely becomes a bit more flexible.
I have the same brush - PJ 2 super in two band. I find it to have some backbone but soft on the face during lathering. Softer than my Rooney super silvertip. I really like it.
