My new Duke 3

Just recently purchased a Duke 3 in Best off the BST and it got here today. Just wanted to show off a couple of bad iPhone pics and share a few thoughts.

From what I can tell so far, the Duke is ever so slightly denser and perhaps a touch softer than the 2-band Semogue. The backbone is outstanding and I had zero issues with flow through whatsoever. I really adore this brush.

That being said, I included a picture of the brush in hand for a frame of reference for perspective buyers. (I'm 6'5'' 265 if that matters) I really had no idea how small this thing was going to be! Granted, the Semogue is a decent sized brush but geez, I'm a decent sized guy. I wouldn't be happy with anything smaller than this I don't think. This little guy is just about perfect though.

Thanks for posting it in comparison to the Semogue 2-Band (which in my opinion doesnt get enough attention!)

Great brush! Being a big guy myself, I don't think I could go much smaller than it either.

Glad that you took the Duke plunge. They are a smaller handle brush but you will get used to it given time.

In my rotation, the Duke 3 in best is my favorite:001_wub:. I have found that the curved portion on the end of the handle to be very comfortable to grip with either two or three fingers, and that''s how I hold the brush. The density, softness and backbone of this brush really make it a great all-a-rounder to use with soaps or creams, face or bowl lathering ...just love it and will never part with this brush.
Enjoy!!!

I own a Duke 3 and LOVE it as well. Great brush, soft feel, enough back bone. Now that it has broken in some and my technique with it has improved, I am no longer having any flow through issues and I am now generating plenty of lather for 3-4 passes on my face.

The Duke 3 is, IMHO, a great all purpose brush. Plenty of backbone for soaps and excellent for creams as well. Enjoy your new brush.

Just got done using it actually. I gobbled up that RR XXX and spit out enough wonderful lather for 5-6 passes.

The more I use it, the more I love it.

in your hands she's a cutie pie. lol!
I'm 5'7, 185, so a small brush suits me fine. though searching form something bigger and less floppier than a 20mm omega bdager

Haha, I was hoping that shot would be of some use to somebody. It really is a lot smaller than you think when looking at all the zoomed in and artsy shots in the SOTD etc.
