My new 30's Aristocrat

I love shaving with my NEW and I've been wanting to try an open comb TTO. I stumbled across this Aristocrat on ebay. I think I got a pretty good deal. I only cleaned the razor so far and I'm shocked at how well it cleaned up. I can't wait to shave with it tomorrow morning.

There's no date code on this that I can find. Any ideas?

You did very well. This could easily go for $60 here and $80 on Ebay.

very nice!

is it good mechanically? do the doors open smoothly with a twist of the end? These are notorious for one's having to push the end of the handle in order to open the door.

I have one that is quite nice, like yours - and she is good mechanically - my favorite razor & one of my nicest.

Congratulations!

(these are typically known as 1934 Aristocrats, made throughout the '30's.)

I shaved with it yesterday morning and it was great.

That is a nice razor, even with the instructions. I bought this with plan to make it my everyday razor if I liked it. It was so nice when it came I wasn't sure, but I'm going to use it and just take care of it.

It works great mechanically. Although, before I cleaned it, it would squeak loudly when you turned the knob. But after a few scrubbing bubbles and water sessions the squeak went away. Maybe I can get some oil into the barrel though.

Mine must be one of the early ones because it has the rivets showing on the sides.

The '30's Aristocrat is my favorite shaver. You picked up a beauty at a very good price. I'm sure you will be very happy with it.
