So here's what I recently received in the mail : A 1966 Gillette Slim with quite a bit of plating loss but mechanically sounds and shaves great! 5 sticks of Arko and some Ice Mint Arko shaving cream!

Did a shave with a Dorco blade and got the smoothest shave I've ever had while having no irritation!



Still waiting on a Lord Merkur style head L6 razor to come in, to use as a razor at work. Also waiting on a couple straights to come back from honing from a fellow B&Ber, rickboone1.

Haven't used the Arko yet. Will probably tomorrow. The scent is interesting, little Citronella and spices. Reminds me of the incense they burn in head shops lol.

I picked up a Lord L6 for a business trip (Amazon Prime shipping strait to my hotel) and it quickly became my go-to razor for over 2 years and led me to sell my very small collection of vintage Gillettes. While I'm going through a small bit of RAD at the moment, it's still my go-to razor and its head has found its way on to the handle of every other compatible razor I've bought.

Nice score. I really like the Arko too. It just smells like really strong soap to me, but in a good way. I can shave with it in the morning and the bathroom still smells like Arko when I come home. Strange how different people perceive the same smell. Best of luck with the new razor and the new soap.
