I bought a TGN 22mm silvertip brush on the BST a while back but it had a very very small wooden handle. Was also set a bit high for my liking - about 53mm.
I also had a very nice old C40 that I picked up from the bay, but which had bristles that broke off as soon as you looked at it.
So I Frankensteined the two - carefully broke the small wooden handle without affecting the knot and cut the remaining epoxy from it.
Removed the C40 knot with a pliers and dremel and widened the hole with the the dremel. Filled hole with two pieces of the wooden handle, glue, and 2 dimes, 2 nickles for a little heft.
Set the TGN knot at about 47-48 mm and managed knot to get epoxy all over the place. (Might be a first for me)
Used it yesterday for first time - I like the denser feeling it has now, a lot more backbone.
It's a keeper.
