My first fedora

Last night I finally bought my first fedora...it was a little impulsive, but live and let live! It's a Stetson Downs in black (7 1/8).

Anyone here have one? It's well reviewed, so I have high hopes that it's of a good quality. I'll post pics when it arrives (assuming I keep it).

Congrats on the hat. Stetson still does make some nice hats. I have a Temple model. This was my last mass production hat before moving on with Art Fawcett.​

Congratulations. I have a Baily western hat and a Jaxon fedora. The fedora is the one I use.

I have quite a few from different makers: Borsalino,Signes and Flechet. Summer & Winter weight in various colours: Grey, Blue,Brown & Black in different grades of hair. Rabbit fur felt & Beaver fur felt.

Stetson and Resistol westerns. Far more in the Fedora style, a few Stetson Open Road models, kind of a cross over, a fedora with a western cattlemans crease, Stetson dress hat, cannot remember model name at the moment, some old Dobbs, kind of an alpine style, a vintage model by a maker called Perry, a few custom made model by Art Faucett, then the most are by Akruba, an Australian maker than has a good line up, some pre creased, and a lot of open crown( shape it yourself) models. The Akruba is probably one of the best quality and most best value for the money out there.

I have the stetson downs and found the brim to be a bit overbearing. I trimmed it 1/2 inch and its perfect.

After I shaved my head last Christmas I found I needed some covering for warmth, found the Fedora Lounge. Got a Borsalino, then got 4 Art Fawcett Beavers, a Milan straw and a couple of Panamas.

I had rearranged my rotation last week and then another heat wave its, haha.
