What's new

My 4 year long search is over!

I have been searching for 4 long years for a cream with an old school/musky/spicy/manly scent that does not irritate my face. I have tried just about all of the popular creams and scents from all over the globe and for the last year I have been resigned to the fact that I have sensitive skin and am limited to Proraso, Nancy Boy Signature, and Kiss My Face Cool Mint as the only scented creams that dont irritate my face. But, I have longed for a Grafton/Mr Taylor/Sandalwood type of scent that doesnt irritate.

I am ecstatic to announce that this morning I was treated to a scented shaving cream with the masculine scent I have been searching for. The cream was slick, cushiony, moisturizing, and produced a luxurious lather and wonderful shave. Most importantly, it did not irritate my face.

What is this miracle cream you ask? I am not telling. I dont want any competition for the supply and intent to purchase every tube available.

By the way, if anyone comes across this stuff please let me know so I can purchase it:

I am sure this question has been asked many times and I could probably find the answer searching the forum but I will ask it here anyway: Why isnt Proraso making a sandalwood aftershave?

I just picked up a couple of tubes of the original today. I'm looking forward to trying this new type. Congrats on your discovery.

A really excellent cream. By the way, here's a tip that might work for you. Before using a heavily scented cream like Grafton, try rubbing something like this on your skin for a minute first: http://www.drugstore.com/giovanni-s...ce-free-and-aloe-for-sensitive-skin/qxp370314

I have found that fragrance free preshaves do wonders for me! Like you, I am very sensitive to heavily scented soaps/creams, but yearn for them! But something like giovanni or Taylor of Old Bond Street pre-shave gel, forms a protective barrier on my face and also dilutes the shaving cream so I get no irritation. Plus Giovanni is absolutely loaded with skin goodies to sooth, heal and moisturize (aloe, shea butter, safflower oil, vitamin a/c/e, etc.). Hope this helps!

Until they release it in a soap (tub) this may be the only cream I have in the den. But as you can tell I love Proraso!

Good for you! I've been having this same problem. I use TOBS Sandalwood but it irritates me slightly. Not enought to discontinue using it however. I must try this Proraso now!

Thanks for the tip - I will give it a try.
