MWF Bath Bar

Been trying out a lot of different bath soaps lately to try and get off the commercial stuff and get something better for my skin and something that will last awhile (probably have spent too much but w/e). I just today ordered some Mitchells Wool Fat bath soap. Has anyone tried this? Experience with it?

I'm on my first bar of it. Bought it because I found I love the shaving soap. Just using it above the shoulders, continuing with same old same old Ivory below. Don't know what to say. I'm not a judge of soap. But I like it. Different fragrance from the shaving soap. Seems like it is going to last forever.

I love MWF shaving soap. I am yearning for the bath soap, but I have a few bars of Mike's are they are great. But I see MWF bath soap in my future.

My order of the MWF bath soap along with my orange B&B essentials brush should be here by Thursday! I'll put word out about the Mitchells after several tests. I really want to try the shave soap, but I'm too broke right now to afford it (I deliver pizzas to pay for my undergrad).

That's odd. The bar I had last year seemed to go quite soft and disappeared quite quickly! It wasn't sat in a puddle or anything.

Lovely soap though. Must get some more.

Don't know. I have it in a soap holder on the wall in the shower, sitting side by side with a bar of Ivory soap. As I say, just using it on my face and neck. Really just an experiment. But the MWF bar isn't getting soft, and I'm now on second bar of Ivory Soap and the MWF bath bar doesn't show much wear. Anyway, beats me. However, for what it's worth, the MWF bar feels harder and more dense, and of course it is larger, compared to the Ivory Soap bath bar.

I'm kind of doing the same thing..... although right now I'm on a bar of Dove (gentle exfoliating body bar). I ordered a bar of MWF bath soap and while it left my skin feeling really nice, I didn't care so much for the scent. There are so many great smelling soaps out there that I figure I probably won't order another bar of MWF. I've also tried QCS bar soap, Stirling Soap Co. bar soap, Musgo Real (Spiced Citrus), and Yardley (both Lemon Verbena and Lavander). I'll probably stick with Yardley for a while and try others here and there. Yardley is pretty inexpensive and readily available. Some of the soap is pretty expensive for how long they last. I usually get a week out of an artisan bar that is made by the cold press method. Triple milled soap would be different and would obviously last longer.... but I haven't really tried any.

mistercitizen...the spyderco man. Me and my buddy at college are avid spyderco knife guys. He has a ladybug, a tenacious, their sharpmaker system, and is working on getting a manix2. Just a quick update, my MWF bath soap should be here thursday, and I will be posting on here a short review.

The only thing that I'm slightly concerned about is the smell, never smelled either the bath bar or the shave soap (really want to try the shave soap but money is a little tight for me as a college student) bought the bath bar on a whim when I bought my B&B essentials brush from west coast shaving (my tweezerman brush has been having some issues)

I like them both, but I think the bath bar smells even better than the shaving soap.

Does the bath bar smell much like the shaving soap? Reading this thread has just about convinced me. I love the smell of the shaving cream.

It is interesting how we are different. Some people really dislike the smell of the shaving soap. You don't dislike it, but don't like it as much as the bath soap. The bath soap to me is pleasant, but I love the smell of the shaving soap.

Just a curious and interesting thing.

My all time favourite bath soap. There is no comparison for me. The Speick bath soap is excellent too but the MWF is just fantastic!!T

he scent is similar but not the same to the shaving soap. I find the shaving soap smells a bit more milky and slightly more spicy where the bath soap is milky and powdery. Both scents are subtle and very pleasing.

My order has officially come in! B&B essential boar brush in orange and one 150g bar of MWF bath soap! Heres a short review of the soap : The soap bar is absolutely massive, size alone makes up for a good bit of the price. The scent is sweet and milky with some powderish scent in the background. The lanolin in the soap provides absolutely wonderful benefits to the skin (which I'm sure most of you know). It did not take me very long at all to generate a good lather to clean myself with, and the bar seems like it is going to last a very long time provided it gets to dry out properly. Overall Grade: A- simply because the scent takes a bit to get used to (its like an acquired taste sort of thing).

Now that I found out I have a local source for MWF soaps I really want to try the bar soap which isn't much more expensive that what I can find online. Unlike the shaving soap which is a whole $12 higher than West Coast Shaving.
