Must see shave stores in London?

Hey-o,

Going to London very shortly for one week. I'm interested in buying a brush, soap, and maybe aftershave somewhere.

Anyone have any advice on what part of London too see and any stores in particular? We are doing the typical London touristy thing so I'm sure we will be all around town.

Thanks!

Taylor of Old Bond Street is on Jermyn Street (one block south of Piccadilly). At the west end of Jermyn Street, turn left (south) and DR Harris is just down the block. A little further and across the street (west side of St James) is Truefitt and Hill. Not too far to the north you'll find George F Trumpers on Curzon street. All worthwhile to visit.

There are various Penhaligon's and Floris shops around town. Close by to all of the above shops is the Burlington Arcade, right off of the north side of Piccadilly. There is a Penhaligon's in that arcade.

Also, all of the usual suspects in London are highly worthwhile to see: St Paul's Cathedral, Westminster Abbey, The Tower of London, The Royal Observatory at Greenwich, The Royal Botanical Gardens at Kew, The British Museum, Victoria and Albert Museum, The Science Museum, The National Gallery, The National Portrait Gallery. St James's Park is a gorgeous park that ends at its west end at Buckingham Palace.

Thanks for the detailed reply, I think I will add St James park to the list...and Jermyn Street.

Lucky you! I intend to visit London during Christmas sometime in the near future. Geo. F. Trumper would be a must see IMO.

One other thought: if you have plenty of time -- and the inclination -- you could catch a train from Paddington Station to Hungerford and visit Robert Johnston at The Gentleman's Shop. It's about a one hour train ride from London.
