Mrs Sluggo wants these boots

I want the mrs to be happy, but I also don't her to buy crappy shoes. What does this group think of Frye quality?

Frye doesn't make crappy shoes. They are robust and will take a lot of abuse. Compared to what you have become accustomed to, they are a bit rustic and unrefined.

I have a pair of their 8R Engineers that are treated with Obanhauf's. Virtually indestructible.

Make the Mrs happy.

My Mrs. has 2 pairs of the Melissa Buttons; brown and black. She's had them for several years and they are really nice quality boots. I can't really think if anything negative to say about them. Like any boot, it took a bit of wear to break them in but she says they are very comfortable now. She wears the brown ones at least once or twice a week.

They are a good buy and a very good buy if its what's the Mrs wants.

My girl is about to open a box containing a pair of Melissa Logo boots by Frye...

I was pretty pissed to see that they are made in mexico, and not in the US. Nearly 400 dollars for boots, I expected them to be made in the US.

Thanks Henry, when they wear out can they be rebuilt? Hope you have a merry Christmas!

My Mrs are still too new to need any work done on them. I dont know if Frye does work on their own shoes, but they are leather soled, so I'm sure you could take them to a local cobbler in your area if it came to that.
