Mother's Day card

Hello fellas,

Today I bring up the topic of Mother's Day cards, you know when you completely forget about it a week before it happens and you rush off to the hallmark to pick out whatever looks like we picked out the best possible card in the whole city... I think that as men (and women if any are about) of the Nib that course of action is below us.

My original plan, find an amazing picture of something my mom would love, glue it to a piece of stationary I have around the house, on the inside with your usual happy mothers day xoxo your name here stuff.

My better, more zany plan, find a picture of something that my mom wouldn't understand at all, use my amazing calligraphy skills to say something odd and memorable, then put in the happy mothers day xoxo Justin.

As you can see the first plan of homemade card is good, I've done it a few years now and it isn't bad, though the new plan is different, and lets be honest I'm not overly keen on being the regular guy.

Happy scribbling!

My mother (and grandmothers) love the hand written cards more than any other card. I even use black ink for most of them with only light flourishes!!!! Women are weird but they love their handwritten cards!

I've been playing with doing this, didn't know whether I wanted to use a dip pen, or the Pilot Parallel. Looks like I'm going with the Parallel's. Now I'm on a hunt for some quality paper or cards to do this on....any suggestions? I want to avoid feathering and bleed through because these parallel pens put down a lot of ink.
