I hadn't used my Parker Variant in about a year, so it was time to revisit it. The Personna 74 blade actually feels better as I use it and still has a very keen edge that delivers a very close and efficient shave.

The Parker Variant has a very wide range of adjustment for my taste. I typically use it on setting 1 or 1.5, but dialed it up to 2 (of 5) today. Setting 2 leaves a fairly large blade gap to my eye. During the shave going east-west across the grain, I nicked my lower lip ever so slightly (one point demerit on irritation). I put this up to my rushing and the generous blade gap. I can't imagine using this razor on setting 5, the blade gap looks like a chasm that would swallow my entire lip. I'm sure there are those who fancy setting 5 though.

I also hadn’t used my WCS Silvertip brush in a while. The knot is very dense to me and the tips are super soft. The brush feels like a down pillow on my skin, incredibly soft and with lots of cushion. I see why some covet these natural fibers so much. In use, I find it harder to paint lather than my other brushes and that the brush holds onto the lather very tightly. Nevertheless, it feels fantastic on my face and ultimately gets the job done of putting lather where it needs to go. I’m glad it’s in my shaving stable.

My shave scoring log is found HERE.

Happy shaves everyone :badger:

Post-shave: face wash with shave binky and a drop of hyaluronic acid
Post-shave: Equate moisturizer

Remembered to rinse more. The edges, they lost their bloom. Thankfully, I had at least another blade in my tuck, so the next shave should be a ticket back to Smoovesville. And I like being in Smoovesville so much more than Scraped Face City.
