Merkur HD Series Knurling 34C 11C 37C

Hi guys,

I was wondering if the above mentioned razors all have the same knurling depth/grain. I have an 11C with fairly deep knurling and recently purchased a 34C that was certainly lacking comparatively. Only thing I know for sure is that the 11C came in one of the older, cheaper boxes and the new one came in the seemingly newer ones with the window on the side.

Does anyone on here have all three of these razors? If so would you mind checking and replying with your findings?

Not all three, but I have had two 34c razors and one 37g, all packaged in the older-style cardboard boxes. All three had the same knurling, much deeper than any other razor I own. Some folks no doubt like the extra-grippy knurling, but it verges on uncomfortable for me.

The nicer-looking packaging suggests that Dovo is paying renewed attention to the Merkur line. Toning down the knurling may be part of that.

I have a 11c and a 34c. Used to have a 37c but it went on BST a couple of weeks ago. I never noticed a difference in the knurling.
