merkur 39c barber pole

Hi everyone sorry if this has seen asked before but still a noob.
Was wondering what you thought's are of the merkur 39c barber pole.
As I might pick one up at the end of the month.

Yes, sir.

If you're comfortable with your technique, go for it. I'm not sure what you are shaving with now but remember that it is longer and heavier than most other double edge razors. If you like a standard smaller DE, then the 37C is similar to them with the slant head.

at the moment it s a wilkingson sword classic.. just bid on a set of 4 gillettes on ebay. i know one is a super speed. even if i never use to 39c would be a nice addition to my ever growing den.

I would say the 37C has the better balance but there are many that like the barber pole balance. I tried the 37C today and had a great result.

Sure, go for it and see if it suite you. It has the longer handle and its heavier, both features that I didn't care for. The size of the 37C fits me better, but you'll never know until you try it. If it doesn't fit your needs there won't be any trouble selling it on B/S/T.

One of my all time favorites. I like the 37c equally.

I just picked one up on BST for a friend of mine who likes razors a bit on the aggresive side, he gave me permission to use before he picks it up ) i'm just hoping its not as agressive as the R41 / but as soon as ill give it a go i'll post up results )

I absolutely love my 39C. Loaded with a feather blade it has provided me with the greatest and closest shaves! My fat boy on setting 6 comes close to my 39C but the 39C is still my favorite razor of all time!

That sounds good would love to hear the results. As I'm looking forward to try a slant. As I'm learning need an aggressive blade for a tough beard

I personally like the Slants, they are good razors which require a light touch. I use the the 37C, but the 39C is great also. I like using shorter handles.

Concur. 39c was my first DE and I still come back to it when I find my technique getting sloppy.

Great razor. No surprises.

I had a 37c and have a O/C bakelite slant. To be honest the lighter slant seems to do a much better job and I found the 37c good but not good enough to keep. I'm interested to hear your thoughts if you get the 39.

I'm going to get the 39c next pay day due to tight funds ..

Just bidding on eBay for a collection of vintage Gillette's. Will let you know If successful..

The 39c, aka the Slant or "Sledgehammer" is my favorite razor.
