Master Blue vs Osage Rub

The temperatures here in the Bay Area broke records today (88 degrees in my town) and with all the talk about Osage Rub I got to thinking: Am I the only one around here who gets a bigger face freeze from Master Blue than Osage Rub? The aroma is a lot better too, in my opinion. Your thoughts, gentlemen?

I got a 1 ounce sample from Appleton Barber Supply and now I'm hooked. It's like Aqua Velva Ice Blue on steroids with a better aroma. Gotta get a big ol' bottle now.

I've tried the blue a couple of times. I did not think it was as strong as the Rub, and it is the only aftershave I have ever tried that I cannot stand the smell of.

Did you mean as strong as Master Blue or The Veg? Funny that you didn't like the smell of Master Blue as both my wife and I loved it, and I found it to be as inoffensive as a newborn baby, but as they say, your mileage may vary! I get the impression that not a lot of the men here have actually tried Master Blue, hence the light activity on this thread.

Looks like TheVez has The Veg on his mind! Me too, I was just thinking about mixing a shot of the Veg with a shot of Tres Flores aftershave. Could be great, could be a spawn of Satan. I guess I'll never know until I try. Btw, I tried the Ebarbershop blue aftershave today, and it smelled quite a bit like Master Blue! Nice freeze, but it didn't last as long as the Master's. Still, good stuff.

I'm pretty sure the eBarbershop is just rebranded master blue. I'm not the only one who thinks so. It smells exactly the same and lasts just as long to me.

Interesting. The scent is very similar, but I felt the Master was considerably stronger in the menthol department. But who knows!

Gonna hijack my own thread a bit here! I took a glass bottle from the kitchen that appears to be for a vinegar & oil type of thing and added equal amounts of Pinaud Lilac Vegetal and Tres Flores Aftershave, about a 1/4 ounce of each just to test it out, and discovered it is definitely not the spawn of Satan, nor is it the greatest thing since sliced bread (or Pinaud Clubman!), however it is a very nice combination. It took a bit of the gaminess away from The Veg and the Vaseline-ish greasy odor from the Tres Flores and created a moderately sweet, flowery aroma that works quite nicely.
