What's new

Martin De Candre, loved by me, my gf, her nephew, the dog, cat

Maybe not the dog, or cat.... But I brought over my 2oz sample from Garrys sample shop to my girlfriends.

I loaded my duke 2, to show my gf how it lathered on my face, and she stuck her face out.

so I swiped her face as a joke, and she liked the way it felt

So, I kept going, then her nephew came running in, so I lathered his face as well...

We shaved him, even though he has no hair lol..

But then my gf ending up loving it, closed bathroom door

Pretty sure she cheated on me in there.

Lol

Phones dying, gotta go

MdC rocks

Hah, awesome post.

Love MdC, and I still stare at the ingredients list sometimes and shake my head. So simple, but oh so good.

I posted elsewhere that I find MDC really close to Dr Selby's and prefer it because it has a much milder scent.

I just used an MdC sample for the first time this week. I'll be buying a full jar when I finish the sample.

Got my sample from Garry, just waiting to give it a whirl! Any recommendations out there on where to get little shave creams jars for my samples??

Small shallow plastic ziplock bowls. Though the small container that Garry shipped it in worked fine for me. Squished it down and then after my brush was wet it fit in and I just twisted it back and forth in a rotating manner about 10-12 times. Loaded just fine.

I think you could just wave the brush over the top of the open container and the MdC would load it just fine, stuff is that good ;)

Hahaha.... Awesome replies.

I will be buying a full jar soon enough.

I actually like the scent, its natural smelling, I hate artificial scents.

I will say, so far, mdc wins.

I have tried Cella, second on my list. The TOBS cream line, pre de provence, tabac, mwf, co bigelow, just to name a few.

I loved most of them, but MdC is #1

I hated for Cella to lose, it always won the soap battles for me.

In the end, you get what you pay for. I dont shave daily, and lately, just my neck because I got a beard going on, so MdC should last me 2 years, lol...

My gf loved the fougere mini bars, Garry had them for a dollar at one point... I too enjoyed the soap.

Ill have to make the order worth the s/h.

At one point there was a currency us button, dont see it now.

I picked up 280 Grams, I enjoy the scent very much, a light Lavender and Rosemary to my nose. I usually Face lather and get a very slick, rich lather that's not overly thick, my face feels moisturized and I love the Glass Containers they came in.

A few people were ranting about it one time. I mentioned offhandedly that it was stupidly simple to make and laughably overpriced and was challenged to prove it. I wound up sending out a sample or two, and I recall one of them trying to buy more. Another member I sent a sample to, along with some MdC I had gotten from a shave soap sample seller here. He couldn't tell me which was which.

It literally is the lowest brow form of traditional soap imaginable. There is no shave soap in the world that costs less to manufacture (save stuff like williams where as I understand it they extract the glycerin from it and make a profit selling that). And yes, it works great. But that doesn't justify them distributing a product that any amateur soaper can produce for a couple dollars a lb, putting it in a nice bowl and charging $60 for a few oz.
